14 October 1987 in Hong Kong, Cherry Ying Yan Ho is a Biomedical
Engineering student at UNSW and younger sister to the ethereal
Angela Ho-Tse. She is best known for not turning up to play the school
song when required and sitting in the exact same spot (most front and
left) for school photos every year. Having
immigrated to Sydney, Australia during her fourth year of primary
school, her above-average intelligence as a youth lead to her acceptance
into the renowned selective girls school, St. George Girls High School.
Shortly after entering the institution, Cherry Ho became known for her
staggering height and musical abilities. Her and her sister were
essentially orphaned in an apartment complex when their parents returned
to Hong Kong to pursue more worthwhile investments. It
was during this period that she met her first boyfriend, Peter Liang
whom she dated from 2002 to 2006 before eventually going separate ways,
citing irreconcilable differences. They remain
friendly acquaintances. Her high school years were largely focused on
maintaining high grades and the undisclosed four-year affair with Liang.
With her unintimidating looks and petite frame, Cherry Ho was quite
popular and had few enemies. Her lunchtimes were spent with her group
Afta_8, which consisted of permanent members Donna Li, Vivian Lui,
Valerie Suen, Jessica Lee, Mandy Li, Stephanie Loui, Jennifer Luo. Past
and honorary members included Wynnie Cheung, Amy Wong and Helen Kuang. Learning
piano and flute as a child, she was finally recognised for her talents
and persistence when she was selected over her peers to be the school
pianist at the tender age of 17. Unfortunately, as a result of her
chronic forgetfulness and lack of practice, Cherry Ho quickly became
notorious for her substandard performances. It is believed that
throughout her entire career as a school pianist, Cherry Ho did not
once, play the school song in its entirety. Later
that same year, she was able to gain entry into an Engineering degree at
UNSW with her lofty UAI of 98.05. This figure also saw her name
permanently engraved in gold on the much-respected Honorary Boards in
the foyer of her high school assembly hall. Cherry is currently completing the
third year in her degree and is suffering from major anxiety attacks
after learning that the baby she is pregnant with is suffering from
life-endangering problems. Her future plans involve finding a husband
and living a fulfilled life staring at pretty boys who will never be
within her grasp.
